Dirk Miller (he/him) is the Founder of The Emily Program and the Executive Chair and Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer of Accanto Health, the parent company of Veritas Collaborative, The Emily Program, and Gather Behavioral Health. Dirk is responsible for defining the organization’s clinical vision and overseeing its growth strategy.
Dirk has over 35 years of experience in the treatment of eating disorders, substance use disorders, and other mental and behavioral health issues. He founded and formerly ran Memorial Hospital’s HOPE program for eating disorders and the Renaissance intensive outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program at Elkhart General Hospital. Dirk is a founding member of REDC, as well as a current member of its Board of Directors and Chair of the Ethics Committee. He is also actively involved as a Board Member of the Retreat in Wayzata, MN, a Founder and Board Member Emeritus of WithAll, and a former member of the Governing Council of the MN Psychological Association. Additionally, Dirk is a Distinguished Alumni of the University of Minnesota and recipient of the Larry Johnson Award. He has spoken nationally on a variety of mental health treatment topics and consults with many healthcare organizations.
Both Dirk and his sister Emily experienced eating disorders but lacked access to appropriate treatment programs. Building The Emily Program, joining with Veritas Collaborative, and being part of Accanto Health’s growth have been a dream come true for him.
