Celebrating 3 Years of Collaboration
A few months before Veritas Collaborative opened, we had a small team, 29,000 square feet to up-fit, and a huge vision: A world in which all persons with eating disorders and their families have access to best-practice care and hold hope for a cure.
And, we didn’t take this vision lightly. After months of construction, preparation, recruiting, and training, we opened our doors to our first patients on June 4th, 2012, and brought our vision to life.
Since that very special day, we have provided state-of-the-art, individualized, comprehensive eating disorders care for almost 300 patients, added a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) to expand access to care, gained approval from the state of North Carolina to provide NG Tube Feeding services to patients in need of that treatment, and spent days advocating at the state and national levels for policy solutions to address eating disorders research, treatment, education, and prevention.
Our team continues to collaborate with patients, families, referring providers, and members of our community to think of ways we can further expand access to care and fulfill the Veritas Collaborative mission:
Driving a new standard of care through a collaborative community working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those devastated by eating disorders
So, today, on our 3rd anniversary — June 4th, 2015 — we not only take time to reflect back on what we have accomplished, but we also look forward to all that is to come.
