Inpatient Treatment
Medical stabilization and expert care.
Inpatient care is structured, highly monitored, around-the-clock treatment that integrates medical care and both individual and group therapies. Inpatient care is suitable for adults who require daily medical interaction, are medically unstable, and/or are severely depressed or a danger to themselves as a result of their entrenchment in eating disorder behaviors. Veritas is one of the nation’s only eating disorder programs able to treat individuals who require this level of care.
Components of Inpatient Care
Inpatient care is our highest level of care and is often the first step in an individual’s recovery journey when medical stabilization is necessary.
- Individually specialized support from a multidisciplinary team consisting of a medical provider, a psychiatrist, a registered dietitian, and a psychotherapist
- Daily individual, group, and community-of-support programming, informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Eating disorder-specific internal medicine support
- Direct psychiatric support
- Focus on medical stability
- 24-hour nursing care
- Regular supervision from Therapeutic Assistants
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Culinary and mindfulness training
- Meal and interpersonal processing
- Family/community of support coping skills and preparation
- Expressive arts and movement therapy
