Aja Reid brings over 13 years of experience in the fields of Human Resources and Business Operations to Veritas Collaborative. Her career has included positions in both public and private sector industries and includes state and local government, higher education, retail and logistics. In her previous role as Senior HR Business Partner-Talent Management at Alliance Behavioral Healthcare, she was responsible for recruitment, ongoing managerial training, employee relations and retention activities for the organization. She also spearheaded the creation of a company-wide reward and recognition program.
Aja has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida A & M University and Masters of Science degrees in both Organizational Leadership & Effectiveness and Human Resources Management from Troy State University. She also holds a Senior in Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute, a Targeted Selection Interviewer certification from Development Dimensions International and a North Carolina Public Employment Law certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
She has been recognized for her contributions by being elected to the Employee Forum Delegate and through nominations for the Robert E. Bryan Public Service Award and the Carolina Women’s Center Advancement of Women Award while employed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also received the UNC College of Arts & Sciences award for Outstanding Customer Service and Strayer University’s Top Regional Business Office Manager Performance Award for having the highest financial aid collection percentage in her district.
Aja loves giving back to the community and volunteers with several non-profit organizations- Dress-for-Success, which assistants women re-entering the workforce, Book Harvest, which provides books to local underprivileged children and the Durham Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter, providing food and support to those in need.
