Anna attended Duke University as an undergraduate, majoring in Psychology. This led her down a path to doctoral studies in clinical and developmental psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time she began gathering experiences working with children and families facing physical and mental illnesses. Simultaneously, she also began to develop a yoga practice as a way to manage stress and increase her physical awareness.
After moving to Durham to complete her final year of clinical training at Duke University, Anna completed the 200-hour OM yoga teacher training program through Blue Point Yoga Studio. This mindfulness-based yoga training integrated concepts of mindfulness into asana, pranayama, and vinyasa in a way she found both challenging and nurturing. This training has become an ideal platform for incorporating yoga into her clinical work with youth. She looks forward to sharing the joy, peace, and strength of yoga with the young people at Veritas Collaborative. Anna currently lives in Durham with her husband and young son.
