Doris Whindleton began her teaching career in Charlottesville, Virginia before moving to North Carolina and joining Veritas Collaborative. She received her Bachelor of Arts in German and Russian from James Madison University and her Master of Arts in Teaching from Mary Baldwin College.
Despite her love of foreign languages, math was always her favorite subject. Over the years, she has taught a variety of math courses from middle to high school level. She has received several awards and honors, including Outstanding Middle School Teacher of the Year and Teacher of the Year. In addition, she has served as Specialist/Facilitator of Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) students.
As a veteran teacher, her love for learning has not diminished. Her work with students continually inspires her passion. The most gratifying part of her job comes in the form of challenging students and watching them succeed.
