Elisha Contner Wilkins is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist. She earned her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Stetson University in Deland, Florida, after completing her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She is one of the only Certified Eating Disorders Specialists in the Greater Richmond area. New to the area, she brings over 17 years of clinical experience to Richmond. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including therapeutic foster care, outpatient community mental health, private practice, schools, and hospitals. The last 10 years of her career have focused exclusively on working with eating disorders in private practice and higher levels of care. In addition to a private practice in Orlando, Florida, this time also focused on developing and managing various higher levels of care for eating disorders. She has additional training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Family-Based Treatment and systemic modalities.
Outside of her clinical work, she is passionate about educating parents, families, school personnel, and other professionals on eating disorders. She has not only dedicated her career to providing direct client care but has also spent much of her career in supervisory and administrative roles to educate, train, and nurture the next generation of therapists. She is qualified to supervise therapists looking to obtain their eating disorder certification through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). She has presented at local and national conferences and is the Immediate Past President of the Central Florida IAEDP Chapter.
