Emily received her Masters of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health from the University of Southern California and her BA in Women’s Studies from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduating from Vassar, Emily moved to California where she worked with middle school youth in an underserved middle school in Los Angeles, serving as a student advocate, mentor and tutor. This position cemented Emily’s interest in working in the mental health field, specifically with children and young adults. During graduate school, she interned with Children’s Law Center of California, serving as an intensive case manager for youth dually involved in the dependency and juvenile justice systems. Following that experience, Emily interned at Kaiser Permanente Hospital as an adult, child, and couples therapist in their outpatient psychiatry department. There she worked with clients with a variety of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and PTSD. Emily is certified in Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
