Lynne Burns joined the Veritas team in March 2016 and is currently functioning in the role of the Interim Director of Nursing. Lynne has a BSN from Vanderbilt, is board certified by ANCC in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and has worked in different capacities in psychiatric nursing at Vanderbilt and UNC for over 25 years. She has worked directly with patients of all ages requiring inpatient psychiatric care and has also worked with eating disorder patients.
In a previous role, Lynne was nominated by her peers and named “Inspiring Nurse of the Year” after helping to open the nation’s first-ever inpatient Perinatal Psychiatric Unit for women seeking treatment for postpartum depression in 2011. Lynne was recognized that year with an award for the unit’s opening, which was featured in many press outlets including the Huffington Post and NPR. The unit was also featured in the documentary, “Dark Side of the Full Moon” which explores postpartum depression.
A native North Carolinian, Lynne especially loves spending her free time on the coast at North Carolina beaches.
