Kyle Simmons

Director, Mood Disorders Biomarkers Program, Janssen Research & Development, of Johnson & Johnson, Inc.

Dr. Simmons completed his Ph.D. at Emory University, and his postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health.  His research examines the neural bases of body-brain signaling, and how humans use signals from the body to guide decision-making and regulate emotions.  The goal of his research is to elucidate how the body’s homeostatic state influences mood and behavior across the lifespan, both normatively and in psychiatric illnesses such as anorexia nervosa and depression.
