Keefe joins Veritas Collaborative after spending 4 years as the chief medical officer at Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York, where he provided clinical oversight for all quality improvement initiatives, utilization review operations and regulatory compliance in addition to maintaining a part-time clinical role. He also held multiple leadership responsibilities related to the development of new initiatives for clinical programming and patient satisfaction. Prior to that, Keefe served as associate vice president of the Behavioral Health Service Line and associate chair of psychiatry in the Northwell Health system. Keefe was also the medical director of Long Island Behavioral Health Management, a grant-supported behavioral health organization that created and implemented quality monitoring, medical necessity and data collection practices for the region’s behavioral health providers.
Keefe is a board-certified psychiatrist with subspecialty training in psychosomatic medicine and forensic psychiatry. A former clinical instructor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Keefe earned both his undergraduate and professional degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign, where he was in the Medical Scholars Program. He is a Diplomate in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and recently relocated to Durham, N.C., from New York.
