Emily Caliento is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor, and Nationally Board Certified Counselor. She has been working with children, adolescents, and families with eating disorders since 2010. Clinically, Emily’s work has focused primarily on the treatment of eating disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and self-injurious behaviors.
Emily received her undergraduate degree from The University of Georgia in Child and Family Development and earned her Masters and Education Specialist degrees in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. Emily is a member is the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals, the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, and the American Counseling Association.
Prior to joining Veritas as the current IOP Manager of the Atlanta Clinic, Emily has worked in inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings holding positions, such as primary therapist, case manager, and assistant clinic director. She has expertise in evidenced-based, best practice eating disorder treatment and currently provides supervision for counselors working towards independent licensure.
Emily conducts individual, group, and family therapy in an outpatient and intensive outpatient setting. Emily is also a part of the multi-disciplinary team at Veritas that provides in-depth, medically and clinically based assessments that determine the most appropriate level of care recommendations for individuals struggling with eating disorders.
In her free time you can find Emily enjoying the outdoors with her husband and energetic puppy, exploring in and around the city of Atlanta, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, or planning her next big international travel adventure.
