Jackie received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from UNCW in 2013. She completed her undergraduate internship working with Clinica Latina in Wilmington, NC, a mental health clinic serving Spanish-speaking clients with a variety of mental health disorders. Following her undergraduate, she worked with Indigenous children and families in Western Australia as a foster care and family services social worker. After returning to the US, Jackie worked in Intensive In-home with children and families to prevent out-of-home placement with Coastal Horizons, Inc using CBT, TF-CBT, and family-based therapy models. She also lived and worked in Brooklyn, NY under the Trauma Systems Therapy model, serving children and their biological and foster families who had experienced significant trauma. In 2017, she worked with children and adolescents in-home who had experienced trauma, with the agency Youth Villages. In 2018-2019, Jackie received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from NCSU, while working with adolescents and their families with substance use disorders at Duke Center for Adolescent Substance Use Treatment. As part of her role at Duke, she facilitated DBT and yoga groups. Jackie started working with Veritas Collaborative shortly after graduating with her MSW and is excited to pursue her full social work licensure as part of the Clinical Intake Team. Jackie is also an experienced yoga teacher and has experience teaching children and families mindfulness, meditation, and yoga skills as a way to regulate difficult emotions.
