Jessalyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed School Social worker. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in school social work from Methodist University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. Prior to joining Veritas, Jessalyn worked as a school based therapist in an elementary school where she developed a strong passion for working with children, adolescents and families in individual, family, and group therapy settings as well as crisis counseling. Jessalyn has worked in diverse settings including medical hospitals, day treatment, schools, military base, and therapeutic foster care settings. Jessalyn is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy among other evidence based practices. She has over 8 years of experience working with children and adolescents with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Reactive Attachment Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder among other diagnoses. Many of Jessalyn’s play therapy techniques have been published on a play therapy website. Jessalyn has a passion for helping others identify their potential and empowering them to make positive changes in their life through empathy and encouragement. Jessalyn is a native of Raleigh, NC although she has lived in various states in the United States as well as in South America.
